AIBA World Boxing Championships in Ekaterinburg, Russia is over. The eight World champions were crowned at the EXPO arena.

At the final fight of the 52 kg category Olympic champion Shakhobidin Zoirov (UZB) met second seeded Amit, the first ever Indian World championships finalist. Zoirov claimed gold medal after defeating the Indian by unanimous decision.

Olympic bronze medalist Andrei Zamkovoi from Russia met second seeded Pat McCormack from England in the 69 kg final. A doctor stop the contest due to injury of McCormack. After the two rounds Zamkovoi won with the split decision 4:0.

Three-times World champion Lazaro Alvarez Estrada (CUB) couldn’t grab his fourth title in the 57 kg category. The Cuban fought against Mirazizbek Mirzakhalilov (UZB) and lost in the final by the split decision. Mirzakhalilov holds the title.

Gleb Bakshi (RUS) hold a unanimous victory at еру 75 kg category against Eumir Marcial (PHI) by knocking him down at the second round. The Russian holds the first World championship title in his career.

Defending World champion Andy Cruz Gomez from Cuba challenged Keyshawn Davis (USA) in the category of the 63 kg. Cuban was stronger in this spectacular fight and he deserved the second World championship gold in his career.

Russian European Games champion Muslim Gadzhimagomedov (RUS) fought in 91 kg category final against Julio Cesar Castillo Torres (ECU). Gadzhimagomedov won unanimously in front of the home crowd and claimed his first major title.

Bekzad Nurdauletov (KAZ) went to the ring against Dilshodbek Ruzmetov (UZB). In the thrilling fight Nurdauletov won unanimously and claimed the first gold medal for his country on this tournament.

First seeded super heavyweight boxer Kamshybek Kunkabayev (KAZ) faced Bakhodir Jalolov from Uzbekistan. Experienced Jalolov claimed gold medal unanimously by defeating his rival from Kazakhstan. This is his first gold medal but the second one at the World championship overall: before he was a bronze medalist in Doha 2015.
