Wednesday witnessed the first boxing finals of the Youth Olympic Games, and, as eight new youth Olympic champions were crowned in the capital city of Buenos Aires, the IOC sports director Kit McConnell had the opportunity to visit the venue first-hand.

While onsite he made positive comments about the boxing tournament, McConnell said, “The most important is that the event is being conducted with full integrity and credibility and the athlete experience is as any other sport and I think that’s been delivered so far,” said McConnell. “The focus is in the ring and on the field of play.”

The comments from IOC sports director reaffirm AIBA’s strong efforts to bring positive change and improvements in each level of the competitions and shows the results from a relentless work from the entire team in the recent months.
