Successful World Women’s Boxing Championship in New Delhi

at the 4th World Women’s Boxing Championship

November 24, 2006 - The 4th World Women’s Boxing Championship ended in an explosion of joy and excitement on the 24th of November. 178 boxers from 33 countries were involved in this competition. During the finals, boxers representing 15 countries gave their best to show the potential of women’s boxing.
This competition allowed Indian boxers to gather four gold medals, but Russia was also a strong opponent with three gold medals. 
According to AIBA representatives, this competition was an excellent example of good collaboration among the organisers who provided all assistance to overcome all potential problems.
Dr. Ching-Kuo Wu, AIBA President, and Caner Doganeli, AIBA Secretary General, personally assisted this major event for women’s boxing. President Wu especially enjoyed the work of the organising Committee and the warm welcome of the Indian Amateur Boxing Association representatives.
