In accordance with the AIBA Anti-Doping Rules, the AIBA Anti-Doping Hearing Panel has issued the decision on the case Simona SITAR_2015-OOC_03. Romanian boxer, Simona Sitar, has received a 2-year suspension for testing positive for a substance included on the WADA Prohibited List.
The boxer tested positive for type S5. Diuretics and Masking Agents substances at an out-of-competition test conducted on September 27th, 2015. In accordance with the AIBA Anti-Doping Rules and the World Anti–Doping Code, the Boxer and the Romanian Boxing Federation have been notified about the findings.
The International Boxing Association (AIBA) welcomes and fully supports the anti-doping testing procedure put in place for competitions. AIBA is working with WADA to ensure that boxing is doping free and will take the appropriate action regarding this case.
