Mr. Ching-Kuo Wu, the new AIBA President

Message from New President, Dr. Ching-Kuo Wu

Dear Members of AIBA, Boxers and Global Boxing Families

November 6, 2006 - The AIBA Congress held in Santo Domingo, from November 1st to 5th, has elected me as new President of AIBA. The federations made this choice because they wanted the change and to bring the justice and democracy in our organization. During the Congress, I received their strong wishes to make our organization as transparent, trustable and professionally operated governing body.

I presented my visions and manifestos to meet all of your wishes and hopes during my campaign. Now, it is a time for all of us to implement them together. They are not tasks which I can achieve all by myself. We need to consolidate all of our efforts in order to implement them to build a new AIBA.

We have come a long way to have the opportunity to change our organization. We can not afford to let any political tense to jeopardize our efforts on opening the new era of the sport of boxing. It is all of our duties to look after our athletes and young generation. For them, we are the hopes and must not disappoint them any more.

I will concentrate to put all of shameful past behind and begin to have a fresh start together with you all. AIBA is the organization with great history and reputation in international sport and Olympic families. I am confident to bring our sport as high as the golden era of boxing. I, hereby, cordially like to invite you all for building new AIBA and make our sport as one of most beloved ones worldwide.

Again, I would deeply like to appreciate for your support and trust rendered to me.

Yours boxing,

Ching-Kuo Wu
President
