The first AIBA Medical Commission meeting under the leadership of the new chairman Dr. Charles Butler for the first time came to a close on Saturday in Lausanne, Switzerland.
The two-day meeting saw the 16-participating members welcome AIBA President Dr. Ching-Kuo Wu and discuss a number of issues and draft proposals that will go infront of the AIBA Executive Committee.
Key issues included the compliance with a new World Anti-Doping Code, which included a presentation from the WADA Director European Regional Office Jean Pierre Moser, a revision of the number of members on the Comission and a presentation on the AIBA Boxing Academy,
Next meeting is planned for later in the year at a date and venue still to be determined. |
