The 44 semifinalists at the AIBA Oceania Olympic Qualification Tournament in Apia, Samoa have been confirmed following the completion of the quarterfinals on Wednesday.

The winners of each of the 11 weight categories will qualify for the Beijing Olympic Games, completing the only Olympic qualifying event for Oceania.

The bout of the day saw Samoa A's Afega Hugo Fata become the darling of the home crowd with a come-from-behind 14:12 win over New Zealand A's Justin Potter in their 69kg quarterfinal.

After the first two rounds were tied up at 6:6, Potter edged ahead in the third round 10:8 before Hugo Fata rode the crest of a wave of great home support to storm back in the final round, clinching the bout and a place in Thursday's semifinals 14:12.

Hugo Fata will now meet Australia B's Gerard O'Mahony in the semis, which start at 14:00 (local time).
