Qualified Boxers by Qualifying Tournament
A total of 225 boxers have so far qualified for the Beijing Games following the completion of the last two qualifiers - the 2nd AIBA Asia Olympic Qualification tournament in Astana, Kazakhstan and the 2nd AIBA Africa Olympic Qualification tournament in Windhoek, Namibia.
Russia, Kazakhstan, China and Morocco lead the qualifying rankings with 10 boxers apiece but Russia, Cuba (9), USA (8) and Ukraine (8) have the chance to top them with their final qualifiers.
With only three AIBA Olympic Qualification Tournaments remaining to be completed, boxers from Europ, the Americas and Oceania will be striving to claim the final qualification spots on offer during the rest of April.
The next qualifying event is the 2nd AIBA European Olympic Qualifier in Athens, Greece from April 7-11 followed by the Oceania Olympic Qualification tournament in Apia, Samoa from April 21-25 and the 2nd AIBA Americas Olympic Qualification Tournament from April 23-30.
