The International Boxing Association has the great pleasure of announcing the appointment of USA's Dr. Charles Butler as the new chairman of the AIBA Medical Commission.
Dr. Butler, who was formerly the vice-chairman and has been acting chairman since February of this year, is a member of the AIBA Executive Committee, Reform Committee and Executive Bureau. He also recently received the USA Federation's "Outstanding Medical Professional for 2007" award in recognition of his excellence as a Ringside Physician.
Two of Dr. Butler's initial tasks as AIBA Medical Commission chairman are to reform the AIBA Medical Commission and its work plan for 2008 while also clearing all rules related to the medical aspects for the development of the new AIBA competition and technical rules.
