Qualified Boxers
Number of countries
A total of 154 boxers from 50 countries have so far realised their dream by booking a ticket for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China with four of 10 AIBA Olympic qualifying events having been completed.
Hosts China and Russia have qualified the most representatives to date with 10 boxers a piece followed by Algeria, Thailand and the Ukraine who have qualified eight and England and Morocco who have qualified seven.
A total of 286 boxers will have qualified for Beijing once the qualification process is completed.
The next AIBA Olympic qualification tournament is the 1st AIBA Americas Qualification Tournament in the Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago from March 12-18 where 23 vacancies are on offer.
Other qualification tournaments include the following (dates mentioned are the first and last day of competition):
March 17-23, 2008: 2nd AIBA Asia Olympic Qualification Tournament - Astana, Kazakhstan (19 vacancies)
March 24-29, 2008: 2nd AIBA Africa Olympic Qualification Tournament - Windhoek, Namibia (29 vacancies)
April 7-12, 2008: 2nd AIBA Europe Olympic Qualification Tournament - Athens, Greece (25 vacancies)
April 24-30, 2008: 2nd AIBA Americas Olympic Qualification Tournament - Guatemala City, Guatemala (23 vacancies)
TBD: AIBA Oceania Olympic Qualification Tournament - TBD (11 vacancies)
