Provisional Exclusion of the Romanian Boxing Federation | 04.10.2012 | In accordance with the AIBA Statutes, the International Boxing Association Executive Committee Bureau made the following decision on 1 October 2012.
On 22 June 2012, the AIBA EC Bureau ordered the Romania Boxing Federation to carry out an election for its presidency by 30 September 2012, this according to article 11 of the AIBA Bylaws that reads:
No National Federation is authorized to remain without an elected president for a period exceeding six (6) months. If the president of the National Federation is absent due to any cause, is incapable of carrying out his/her function as president, or has been suspended by AIBA or any other body for a period of two (2) years or more, a new presidential election must be organized within 3 months of the date AIBA calls for a new election.
However, the Romanian Boxing Federation failed to comply with this order despite the time which was allocated to carry out such election and has therefore been provisionally excluded from AIBA.
