On 5 January 2012 and pursuant to Disciplinary Commission Decision 2012/0501, the AIBA Disciplinary Commission Chairman ruled to:
1. Sanction the Romanian Boxing Federation with a fine of CHF 3,000 and a suspension of 3 months (RBF's suspension started on 10 January 2012 and will end on 9 April 2012 provided all fines are paid in full, and no additional violations have occurred)
2. Sanction Mr. Rudel Obreja with a fine of CHF 3,000 and a suspension of 3 months (Mr. Obreja's suspension pursuant to the present decision will start at the end of his current suspension and end three months later provided all fines are paid in full, and no additional violations have occurred).
The Romanian Boxing Federation and Mr. Obreja submitted an appeal against the above decisions.
However, the AIBA Executive Committee Bureau decided on 30 January 2012 to reject this appeal.
