Suspension of Romania Boxing Federation | 10.01.2012 | On 5 January 2012, the AIBA Disciplinary Commission imposed sanctions on both the Romanian Boxing Federation and Mr. Rudel Obreja for violating the AIBA Disciplinary Code by failing to comply with a previous decision of the AIBA Disciplinary Commission.
Pursuant to its decision, the AIBA Disciplinary Commission imposed separate fines of CHF3,000 each on the Romanian Boxing Federation and Mr. Obreja and also suspended both from all boxing activity for a period of 3 months.
The Romanian Boxing Federation's suspension period commenced on 9 January 2012. Mr. Obreja is currently serving a five year suspension imposed upon him as a result of previous breaches of the AIBA Statutes and the AIBA Disciplinary Code. Therefore, the recent three month suspension imposed on Mr. Obreja will take effect on 21 August 2015 upon the expiration of the period of his current suspension. |
