Bringing to a close a sensational 2011, the end of the Olympic Boxing Test Event at the ExCeL in London made way for the 2011 AIBA Annual Awards Ceremony.
Presided by Dr. Ching-Kuo Wu, AIBA President, the event was held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in the heart of the London Docklands in front of delegates from the National Federations who participated in the Olympic Boxing Test Event this week, as well as the International Technical Officials (ITO) and Referee & Judges (R&J) of the event, representatives from the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) and the Amateur Boxing Association of England (ABAE).
Delight was etched all-over Azeri Magomedrasul Medzhidov's face when he received the Best Elite Boxer of the Year award. "It is a great honour for me to receive this award. But I also feel the responsibility that comes along with it. I need to justify the hope that is put on me.
