Bronze medal bouts offer seven Olympic spots at African qualifier

All but eight Olympic qualification spots remain to be determined at the 1st AIBA African Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Algiers, Algeria and seven of those will be filled in Tuesday's seven bronze medal bouts which start at 16:00 (local time).

The 48kg division bout between Redouane Boubraouat (ALG) and Manyo Plange (GHA) will start proceedings followed by six other contests featuring boxers from Ethiopia, South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho, Tunisia, Morocco, Egypt and Kenya.

Originally a total of eight bronze medal bouts were scheduled for Tuesday however, following Rached Merdassi's (TUN) disqualification in the semifinals, Choayab Oussassi (ALG) automatically claims bronze and an Olympic qualification spot.

Following today's bouts, the 1st AIBA African Olympic Qualifying Tournament will have a rest day on Wednesday before Thursday's finals.
