On 24 September 2011 during the 2011 AIBA Extraordinary Congress, the AIBA Executive Committee Bureau decided to award the AIBA Order of Merit to the following recipients:
- Mr Herbert Embuldeniya (Sri Lanka): former member of the Safety Commission, member of the R&J Commission, secretary of the R&J Commission and AIBA Executive Committee member from 1990 to 1998.
- Mr Emil Jechev (Bulgaria): former member of the AIBA Executive Committee, member of the R&J Commission, vice-President of the R&J Commission, President of the Refereeing Commission and AIBA vice-President from 1986 to 1994.
- Dr Sakchye Tapsuwan (Thailand): former AIBA Executive board member, deputy chairman of the R&J Commission and AIBA vice-President. |
