AIBA closed the deadline of all registrations on August 20 but the AIBA HQs Office spent another 4 days to verify the eligibility of boxers and coaches registered. AIBA is now pleased to announce the attached 126 registered countries with 716 boxers, not including reserved boxers.

In addition, there is still a total of 6 countries currently pending to accept our invitation as follow:

• BANGLADESH
• BENIN
• CAMBODIA
• JAMAICA
• NAURU
• SWAZILAND

Therefore, once all these countries have positively replied, the total number of countries will increase to 132 and the total number of boxers to 728.

Although it is believed that the total number of boxers will decrease after the General Weigh-In to be held on September 25, this is so far the record number of registered boxers for any AIBA World Boxing Championships and it is also an Olympic Qualifying Event.

At the end of this World Boxing Championships, a total of 92 boxers will be qualified.
