Job opportunity: AIBA is looking for a Legal Intern

Commencement Date:

Mid July 2011

 

The duration of this internship is between three and six months to cover maternity leave.

 

Position Description:

The legal intern will manage the day-to-day legal affairs of the organization under supervision of the Executive Director. 

 

Requirements:

·      Must have completed a law degree and be working toward or have completed a post graduate qualification in law

·      Knowledge in fields such as Intellectual Property, Corporate Law and General Commercial Litigation

·      Excellent level of written and spoken English

·      Strong interpersonal and communication skills

·      Ability to display confidence in their work and demonstrate initiative

·      Excellent records/case management skills

·      Good legal research skills

 

Additional Requirements:

·      Strong interest in sport and the desire to work for an International Olympic Sports Organisation.

 

Responsibilities:

·      Drafting and reviewing a variety of agreements

·      Analysis of day to day questions regarding the content and scope of existing agreements

·      Reviewing disciplinary cases and preparing briefs to the AIBA Disciplinary Commission

·      Assisting the Anti-Doping Co-ordinator with legal matters concerning the WADA Code

·      Manage external legal advisors and assist with court filings and document preparation

·      Providing general support to the Executive Director
