On September 6, 2010, the AIBA Executive Committee Bureau lifted its suspension of the Papua New Guinea Boxing Union.
PNGBU boxers may therefore participate in the 2010 Commonwealth
Games in New Delhi. AIBA has informed the LOC accordingly.
Writing to confirm the decision, AIBA President Dr C. K. Wu stated, "I take this opportunity to welcome the Papua New Guinea Boxing Union back into the AIBA family. I trust that that PNGBU will from now work to secure the best interests of boxers and of the sport of boxing."
