After the Preliminary Registration Deadline for the 2010 AIBA Women's World Championships expired on June 30th, a total of 360 boxers from 78 different countries had registered for the tournament.
The number of participants has increased by more than 50 per cent compared with the 2008 edition, which was held in Ningbo, China, even though the number of weight categories has since been reduced from 13 to 10.
Furthermore, the number of participating countries has almost doubled, from 42 in 2008 to 78 for the 2010 edition.
The tournament will be held from September 9th to 18th in Bridgetown, Barbados. |
