Semifinal roundup: Sweep for USA in four categories | 21.11.2007 |  57kg semifinal between Raynell Williams (USA) in blue and Afanasy Poskachin (RUS) story.jpg) The semifinals of the "Good Luck Beijing" 2007 International Boxing Invitational Tournament were staged on Wednesday at the Beijing Workers' Indoor Arena as all the four American boxers cruised into the finals with Russia, Kazakhstan and Mexico each sending two into the next phase. Thailand and England qualified one each.
In the 57kg, 60kg, 91kg and +91kg categories, the American boxers fought more offensively, beating their Russian and Kazakhstanian counterparts.
Russia had five boxers in the semifinals. Unlike the in-form American contestants, Russia just managed to gain the final tickets of the 69kg and +91kg categories.
Two of the five Kazakhstanian boxers made to the finals. They are in the 60kg and 69kg categories.
Mexico did well in the light events as they entered the 51kg and 57kg finals.
Thailand and England each has one berth in the 51kg and 91kg categories. The six finals will be held tomorrow afternoon.
