As the 1st AIBA World Junior Boxing Championships Yerevan 2009 approaches, record participation numbers and positive feedback regarding the venue impress during the last AIBA Coordination visit.
The Coordination visit in the Armenian capital took place this week in preparation for the Junior WCHs, scheduled for the 23-30 May 2009.

The Sport-Concert Complex, named after Karen Demirchyan and venue for the 2009 Junior WCHS, has once again been praised as "top class", the enthusiasm of the engagement marking the run-up to the tournament continues to make a positive impression.
In addition, with 10 days left before the final deadline, 285 boxers from 39 countries have already registered to take part in the 2009 Junior WCHs.
The participation numbers for the 2009 Junior WCHs have already outnumbered, by 71 boxers, the last AIBA World Championship for boxers aged 15 and 16 in the 2007 AIBA Cadet World Championships held in Baku, Azerbaijan.
