Seedings unveiled for AIBA World Cup Moscow 2008 | 08.12.2008 | With one day remaining before the draw and two days before the opening of the AIBA World Cup Moscow 2008, AIBA has unveiled seedings for the first time in its history, placing the top two boxers of each weight category on either side of the draw.
AIBA's end-of-year event will have two top seeds in every weight division while the remaining six boxers will be drawn their positions. The top seeds are calculated on their performance in the 2008 Olympic Games and AIBA World Championships Chicago 2007.
AIBA World Cup Seeds by Weight Category
The AIBA end-of-year event begins on Wednesday in the Russian capital, featuring eight of the world's best boxers in each of the 11 weight categories.
Headlining the entry list is Olympic champion and world number one on the official International Boxing Association world rankings Vasyl Lomachenko from the Ukraine.
The AIBA Annual Awards ceremony will also be held in Moscow on the rest day (December 12).
