AIBA's end of year event is less than one week away and Moscow is getting ready to welcome the top international boxers of the year for the AIBA World Cup Moscow 2008 which runs from December 10-14.
Eighty-eight boxers split across 11 weight categories will compete for World Cup honours as the biennial event returns to its original format featuring individual boxers after a team-based format was introduced for its past three editions.

The "Megasport" sport palace will play host to the Olympic 57kg champion and Val Barker Trophy winner Vasyl Lomachenko from the Ukraine who will headline a star-studded line up which will also feature two Russian world champions in 54kg champ Sergey Vodopyanov and 57kg world champion Albert Selimov who will now compete in the 60kg class.
Meanwhile, the 81kg class looks to be one of the toughest with a possible repeat of the AIBA World Championships Chicago 2007 final on the cards with world champion Abbos Atoev from Uzbekistan in the draw along with silver medallist Artur Beterbiev from Russia.
All the action begins on December 10 with the AIBA Annual Awards, where the awards for the Male and Female Boxer's of the Year, the Coach of the Year and the Referee and Judge of the Year will be presented, will also take place on the rest Day on December 12.
