Introduction

The 1st AIBA European Olympic Qualifying Tournament takes place in Pescara, Italy from February 25th until March 2nd, 2008. The venue of the competition is the PalaSport Remo Maggetti in the Comune di Roseto Degli Abruzzi with more than 250 boxers from 40 countries chasing 26 Olympic qualifiyng spots over 11 weight categories, from 48 kg to +91 kg. The Olympic qualifying tournament is conducted in accordance with AIBA Competition Rules (4 rounds of 2 minutes and 1 minute break between rounds). Preliminary bouts will take place from February 25-26th, with quarterfinals being held on the 27th before a rest day on the 28th. The semifinals will be held on February 29th followed by the finals and awarding ceremony on March 1st.  Versione Française
